But it wouldn’t be fair to not make mention of truly impressive late ‘80s movies she starred in—“Steel Magnolias” and “Mystic Pizza,” anyone? As a testament to her prowess, not only has she aged like fine wine, she’s continued to star in major projects, such as the 2021 series “Gaslit.”

Gutenberg’s name might not be so rampant anymore but he’s no less busy. Far from it, in 2020 alone, he was involved with five film projects. He clearly has time for the camera, as in 2021, he also starred in a series titled “Paper Empire.”

Meryl Streep – Out of Africa

Of course, the much-adored Meryl Streep makes this list. Who would ever forget ‘Mamma Mia!’ or “The Devil Wears Prada”? These popular movies were made in the ‘00s, although Streep had become a major thing in Hollywood from as far back as the ‘70s and ‘80s.

Many movie watchers in that period would be familiar with her 1985 movie “Out of Africa,” because it was such a massive box-office success at the time. He left behind a legacy of great accomplishments, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame which he was honored with in 1997.

There’s no denying Nicole Kidman’s affluence. Not many actresses can boast of being listed by Time magazine as one of the most influential people in the world twice or being ranked as one of the greatest actors of the 21st century by The New York Times. Clearly, Kidman wasn’t as influential in the ‘80s as she was in the 21st century, but she wasn’t entirely off the grid either.

Her most notable film during that period was the thriller “Dead Calm”, which also starred “Jurassic Park” star Sam Neil. Despite her success, she’s rarely gotten off her busy schedule—in 2021, she appeared in a mini-series titled “Nine Perfect Strangers.”

Jason Bateman – Teen Wolf Too

The sitcom ‘Arrested Development” was put on the streaming TV service Netflix in 2013, so more people got to familiarize themselves with Jason Bateman’s earlier comedy antics. Of course “Arrested Development” was originally released on Fox about 10 years earlier in 2003, so for most new watchers of the show, they were just catching up.

Even fewer people might be familiar with the fact that Bateman had started making his mark as a teen idol as far back as the ‘80s. This was thanks to his appearances in “The Hogan Family” and the movie “Teen Wolf Too.” Bateman had a starring role in the 2021 Netflix movie “Thunder Force.”

Denzel Washington – St. Elsewhere

The New York Times ranked Denzel Washington as the greatest actor of the 21st century in 2020. Judging by his accomplishments over the years, it’s safe to say they weren’t far off the mark. The world began to discover Washington’s talent from the ‘80s medical drama “St. Elsewhere.” He boosted his acclaim by starring in “Glory,” “Malcolm X,” and then the iconic thriller “Training Day.” The Tony-winner increased his bragging rights with his release of the 2021 adaptation “The Tragedy of Macbeth.”

After “21 Jump Street,” he rarely took mediocre roles and only opted to portray special characters. A major reason Savage’s on-screen popularity declined is that he switched his efforts behind the camera and became a director. He returned to acting in 2017 and looks to have developed a taste for the limelight again. “The Wonder Years” was revived in 2021, and although Savage didn’t appear in the series, he directed the pilot.

Morgan Fairchild – Flamingo Road

Morgan Fairchild had a brief appearance on “Dallas” where she played the role of Jenna Wade, but not many might remember that. Drew Barrymore – E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

Drew Barrymore comes from a lineage of acting talent, so it’s no surprise she’s accomplished as much as she has in the industry. John Stamos – Full House

Although John Stamos began his acting career in “General Hospital” and got nominated for a Daytime Emmy as a result, it’s his starring role in ‘Full House” that is his major call to fame. He played the character of Jesse Katsopolis on the series from 1987 till it ended in 1995.

Stamos didn’t earn any critical accolades for “Full House” but he wouldn’t mind the massive popularity it gave his career. Unlike several soap opera stars of the ‘80s and 90s, he wasn’t starved of major roles later in his career. In 2021 he took the lead role in a series titled “Big Shot.”

Stephanie Powers – Hart to Hart

Stephanie Powers is one of the names on this list who experienced the golden age of Hollywood cinema. Her career started as early as the ‘60s, so by the ‘80s, she was a well-seasoned actress paving the way for the newcomers.

He appeared in a short movie in 2009 titled “Poet, Soldier” and has barely been on the radar since then. An interesting fact about Thomas: he was the one that coined the term “EGOT” which consists of the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards.

Helena Bonham Carter – Miami Vice

If you’re familiar with Helena Bonham Carter then you know she’s one of the most unique actresses in the industry. Back then he was a bit popular as a teen idol, and he even starred in the Oscar-winning movie “Dangerous Liaisons.” Of course, Reeves has come a long way since then. His performance in the 2020 movie “Bill & Ted Face the Music” proved that he could also portray funny roles.

Lisa Whelchel – The Facts of Life

Ask any active Hollywood celeb, and they’ll tell you it’s not so easy living their daily lives because of the hectic demands of their job. Yet, someone like Lisa Weichel was able to find enough time to not only act, but do other things such as writing, public speaking, and singing.

You might know her from “The New Mickey Mouse Club” where she performed as a Mouseketeer as a child. She was also in “The Facts of Life” where she played the role of Blair Warner. Despite her other devotions, Whelchel still finds time for showbiz—she appeared in some episodes of “Collector’s Call” in 2020.
